  • Bajau village visit

    A walk along the wooden paths of a stilt village, with an introduction to daily life and fishing.

    Preparing two or three local dishes, usually with fish and coconut.

Etiquette

Visiting a village

Villages are residential areas. Please follow these guidelines.

  • Cover shoulders and knees. Swimwear is for beaches and boats.
  • Ask before photographing people, and accept a refusal.
  • Do not give money or sweets to children.
  • Arrange donations of school supplies with the teacher or village head.
  • A small gift, such as coffee or snacks, is appropriate if you are invited into a home.
